The components used in software simulation, hotspots, and perhaps one or two others I’m not thinking of are the only components that can be moved. If you need this level of control you can achieve this in Captivate Classic, which is included in your license.

I'm not aware of any way to change this.

Double-click on the button itself. Also, make sure you update Captivate to the latest version. There was a bug with renaming buttons in earlier releases. Click on *Help* and then *Check for Updates*

If you are publishing for your LMS, you must set these options in the *Preferences* window. You can access the *Preferences* window from the *Edit* dropdown menu on a Windows machine or the *Adobe Captivate* dropdown menu on a Mac. Navigate to the *Quizzing* category and then the *Reporting* subcategory. Select *Enable Reporting* and select the reporting standard that your LMS uses. For *SCORM 1.2* and *AICC* , you can choose the * Success/Completion Criteria* to include *Slide Views* and set the percentage required to be considered complete. For *SCORM 2004* and *xAPI* , there is a section just for *Completion Criteria* where you can also select the percentage of *Slide Views* to mark the module complete. Bookmarking is on by default. If you wish to disable bookmarking, you can scroll down until you see a checkbox for *Never Send Resume Data* that is not selected by default. Selecting this option will suppress the bookmarking feature, forcing learners to restart the course from the beginning each time they launch the module from your LMS.

I put all my text in a single entry and generate. Then edit the captions to separate the lines of text.

I will be honest. I probably won't be using the Murf studio for much longer. My understanding is that Adobe's next update release might contain AI generated voices. I hope so becuase it would be nice not to have to leave captivate everytime I want to generate narration. In the end, a real human is best for narration but I understand the need and ease of using an AI voice.

No, you can highlight text and hyperlink to something but this exact item wouldn't work.

Yes, take a look in the *Design Options* section of the Visual Properties Inspector. You can select the last item and add images of your choosing.

You can turn off the playbar before you publish. You can find the settings under Project / Skin Editor.

When you publish as an MP4 you are simply making a video. All interactive objects become hard encoded into the video. If you want your elearning course to be truly interactive, publlish as HTML5 and upload it to a web servier or LMS.

The answer is no if you hope for new features in the old software. However, if they detect bugs, they may patch them with an update.

You cannot unlock the rollover, down, and visited states of a object used as a button. Same is true for other inbuild states like the ones used for drag and drop.

@@CaptivateTeacher I think I may have figured it out. If you copy the appearance of a button from another slide that doesn't have a custom icon and then apply that appearance to your single button on a different slide - it somehow messes up that setting if you tell your component block to add another button. Probably something to do with the added 2nd button defaults being normal, while your 1st button with the applied style stays off or isn't treated the same. And there doesn't appear to be a way to reset or clear applied styles back to default. 😒

@@rebell570 I think there is an opportunity for Adobe to build the appearance of buttons into the theme. Ideally, this seems like something you could set once and then forget about it. You should provide your feedback on this through the Help dropdown in Captivate.

Scrolling elearning is only one way you can develop online training with Adobe Captivate. Remember you also get Adobe Captivate Classic and the All-New Adobe Captivate for that one price.

You could write your audio narration based on what section you are within in a scrolling slide. Trigger each audio clip by an appropriately placed button block. Of course unlike a single slide audio narration there is no closed captioning for triggered audio. Make sure you are being inclusive by including all the written narration on screen as well.

In Adobe Captivate Classic (2019 or earlier) each project file contained a library which you could access all the resources built into your project. In the All-New Adobe Captivate (version 12) they exist within the CPT project file but the only way I have discovered to access them is to publish the project to a folder on your computer. Navigate to that folder and peek inside the various sub folders to find any multi-media.

It doesn't need to be an Adobe ID, but yes, you need to sign in with some credentials. You can also use a Google, Facebook, or Apple account. This is reasonable since you want to know who is adding comments to your course, especially if there are follow-up questions you need to have answered.

I would check with Adobe. I have found that all my hotspots are "sticky" with the background image. You can reach them through their technical support email at captivatehelp@adobe.com.

I don't see a way to do that. Click on the *Help* dropdown and select *Provide Feedback* to let Adobe know you would like this capability as a feature enhancement. If enough people request it or agree with your request, Adobe will add it to a future version of Captivate.

Not every font can be used. If you installed a specialized font, perhaps a customized font from your client it works when you preview it because you have that font installed. When you launch the course either from your client's LMS or using the new Share for Review feature the end user will not see any fonts they don't have installed. Stick with what are commonly known as web safe fonts such as Arial, Trebuchet, Verdana and several others. These are web safe because they are system fonts on well over 95% of the worlds devices. Also there are some web fonts from Google that are included with Captivate that when used the web version of those fonts will load for your end user. For example, Archivo, Anton, DM Sans, and so (there are about 70 included).

"...the end user will not see any fonts they don't have installed." - How do we mass install fonts on employees? computers (I work for a large system, not independent clients, and unfortunately per a merger our brand has changed to acherus grotesque, which is hard to find in general) or is that going to be an Adobe Creative Cloud question?

@@billstafford477 Ask your IT department to push that font out to all users. Adobe's documentation on fonts in the All-New Adobe Captivate doesn't include much details. I've reached out to them to get some clarification as to what can be done in situations like yours. Perhaps there is a future video in this.

I learned a little more about this. At present Adobe Fonts are not supported, like they were in version 11 (Classic/2019). However, its on the roadmap for the product development to reintroduce Adobe Fonts at some point (no details as to when). I have a further inquiry in to find out what can be done to add other Google fonts as the product only supports about 70 or so Google fonts. Again you should avoid system fonts except for the ones that are considered "web safe." If you are unsure as to which fonts these are you can learn more about what is considered web safe here: www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_websafe_fonts.php My advice is to find a font that is similar and stick with that for the time being. If your organization can't allow that then they are focused on the wrong things when it comes to making elearning.

I'm not sure if you can remove it once you have created a demo simulation but you can turn it off for future recordings. From the record simulation window, select the settings icon. Under audio options you will see the option to turn off keystrokes and keyboard tap sounds. The top most option is for you while you are recording, however the indented one is the demo recording itself.

The All-New Adobe Captivate is responsive design. Therefore, there isn't an option to publish it as a fixed aspect ratio video. For this you would need to use Adobe Captivate Classic.

You would need to return to Classic and use a non-responsive design project. Adobe Captivate 12 doesn't allow for video publish as there isn't a fixed aspect ratio as there would be in non-responsive design. The truth is that Captivate has never been a great tool for making videos. I prefer Camtasia for that.

I don't use Captivate for making videos for a number of reasons. This is one of the reasons. I prefer a tool like Camtasia as I can publish my video and a closed caption file (SRT format) and upload both to something like UA-cam.

I think there is a video already about this but the short answer is that you can simply use the built in playbar to control the video since slide video runs in sync with the timeline.

If you are talking about custom table of contents you can store completion of each lesson in a variable on slide enter of the branching slide just have a series of conditional actions checking these variables and setting up the checkmarks accordingly each time you arrive on the slide.

I've seen some people get very creative with Adobe Captivate and build games like Jeopardy, memory games, and so on. It usually requires being very knowledgeable with advanced actions and have a programmers level of knowledge.
